The Manxome Foe is a whimsical Eamon adventure written by Ray Olszewski based on the works of Lewis Carroll. It incorporates settings, objects, and characters from the novels Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass (1872), and is named for a phrase in Lewis's poem "Jabberwocky".
Premise
The adventure begins with this short introduction:
As you step out of the hall, a hansom cab pulls up. The driver offers you a ride to your destination. Soon after you are seated in the cab, you fall into a deep slumber. You awaken in a strange room, alone.
You awaken in a mysterious parlor and soon find a powerful weapon, the Vorpal Sword. The rest of the map consists of a forest (the Tulgey Wood) filled with Carroll's fictional creatures. The objective is to find and defeat the Jabberwock and escape back to the Main Hall.
